VSA Ball 2016

Saturday 5th November 2016 saw the return of the annual VSA ball.    This year’s theme was “Alice Through The Looking Glass”, and was the usual sell-out.  The main focus of this year’s fundraising was on mental health.  Shirley Thomson, Director, commented “Most of us were surprised by the statistic quoted on the night that one in four of the population is affected by mental health issues.  The ball raised over £100,000, which in the current straitened circumstances in the region is a fantasti [...] Read more

Doug has been appointed a non-executive director of the Clydeside Distillery. This is an exciting project in Glasgow to transform the iconic Pump House building located between the Riverside Museum and the Hydro Arena that will create a whisky distillery and visitor centre on the banks of the Clyde. Due to their ever increasing school roll and continuing aspirations to become the first choice for independent school pupils from the North-East of Scotland and further afield, Lathallan School have just opened a state of the art Science Centre. Despite the weather being slightly less clement on the second day, and a couple of minor technical mishaps, Doug Fiddes completed this year’s Ride the North in one piece.  Well, apart from the hundreds of midgie bites…… He claims this photograph was taken at the end of day two, but we have our doubts – looks remarkably fresh for having cycled for two days.  It does however highlight his lovely pink jumper, which he wore in support of VSA, not just because he liked the colour.
