The weekend of the 30th/31st of August saw around 400 cyclists set off from Inverness on a 164 mile journey to Aberdeen. The sun shone brightly, and the rain stayed away, so the weather conditions were near ideal for all involved, except for some strong headwinds along part of the route. Aileen Beverly took part in the cycle event and described it: “I had a brilliant time. The organisation and effort put into the event was second to none, so the whole event really did work like clockwork. The atmosphere throughout the two days was superb and to top it off we were cycling through some stunning North East countryside.” Many of the cyclists were taking part in the event to raise money for charity and organiser Neil Innes hopes that the fundraising efforts from this year’s event will reach £100,000. Baxter Dunn & Gray have committed to sponsoring this worthwhile event for a further two years.
