Set on the high street in Stonehaven, the project comprised the redevelopment of the former “Bervie Chipper” site in to residential apartments. Quality was at the centre of the Client’s requirements as they were looking to deliver a high specification residential development.
The construction generally was that of traditional masonry, with the external envelope combining a smooth render with courses of sandstone. A number of steps were also taken with a view to sustainability including the addition of photovoltaic panels and Nest thermostats.
BDG Thomson Gray provided full Quantity Surveying services on the project. This included cost planning, tender preparation, tender re-negotiation and post contract financial control.
The completed development comprises seven number contemporary, stylish two bedroom apartments, together with a communal lobby containing a lift. The apartments are modern and energy efficient with traditional detailing that reflects the character of the area.
Redevelopment of this site in the heart of Stonehaven has proved successful, with the space now offering a rare opportunity to purchase new build property in an outstanding location.
