The project comprised construction of a new multi-storey commercial office space for Langstane Housing Association. The construction of the office included concrete ground beam foundations with a steel frame structure. The superstructure was finished with a combination of granite blockwork, K-Rend and curtain walling. The roof used for this office was a single ply membrane Trocal roof. This project also included a follow on contract for external works including a new carpark.
BDG Thomson Gray provided both Quantity Surveying and Health and Safety services on the project.
The completed development has provided Langstane Housing Association with a new office space that enables them to continue their work in providing good quality affordable homes in Aberdeen city, Aberdeenshire and Moray.
“We enjoy working with BDG Thomson Gray – they understand the requirements of Housing Associations and particularly the importance of good specifications, cost planning and forecasting grant spend and providing good cost information to back up any additional cost elements. As Employers Agent they assist with driving projects forward, taking a lead role in the design team and ensuring team members are carrying out their actions on time, and offering good advice on contractual issues.” – Marcie Balance, Langstane Housing Association
