What inspired you to take up a career in the construction industry?

I have always had an interest in construction while growing up. Therefore, when deciding what I wanted to study at university the construction-based courses were my first choice, which led me Quantity Surveying. Something that I really enjoy about my role at BDG Thomson Gray is that each day presents different tasks and challenges. My role gives me the opportunity to work on various projects on a daily basis, which is helping me gain valuable experience at this stage of my career and development.

What is your favourite part of the job?

I would say my favourite part of the job is seeing the projects I am involved with progress on site. It is something that I find greatly satisfying, particularly when it’s a project I have been involved with from early stages.

What is your biggest achievement to date?

My biggest achievement to date would be achieving my honours degree from RGU. Throughout school it was always a goal of mine to achieve a degree and is therefore something I am greatly proud of.

What are your future career aspirations?

The main aspiration for me now is to achieve my MRICS qualification. Having learned more about the qualification and the APC process over the past few years, it is definitely a primary goal of mine.
